A crown is used to fully cover a damaged tooth. A crown not only strengthens but improves the appearance and shape of a damaged tooth. Crowns are also placed on top of implants.
A dental crown is a tooth-shaped “cap”; an artificial restoration that is placed over a damaged tooth to improve the appearance and restore its shape, size and strength. The crowns, when cemented into place, fully encase the entire visible portion of a tooth that lies at and above the gum line.
Yes, impressions are taken on the day of your visit and sent out to a dental laboratory. Along with a shape, size and colour code to match your other teeth perfectly.
Avoid chewing on hard foods or ice. Also avoid teeth grinding.
Initially, we will remove decay, prepare the tooth to the ideal shape for the crown, and fit it with a temporary crown made of a plastic material. The amount of the tooth removed will be the same as the thickness of the crown. Once the tooth is shaped, the dentist will take an impression (mould) of the prepared tooth, one of the opposite jaw and possibly another to mark the way you bite together.
The impressions will then be given to the dental technician, along with an appropriate shade and other information needed for the crown to be made. On your next visit we take off the temporary crown and fit the final crown, cementing it into place so you have a new, beautiful-looking tooth.
New materials are constantly being introduced as dental technology advances. Here are some popular choices: Porcelain bonded to precious (or non-precious) metal. This is what most crowns are made from. A metal base is made and then porcelain is applied in layers over it.
Dental bridges literally bridge the gap created by one or more missing teeth. Bridges are cemented to the teeth surrounding the empty space.
When you have one or more missing teeth, then a dental bridge may be used to restore the resulting gaps. The dental bridge is basically a false tooth, beautifully created from porcelain that fills the gap and is supported by adjacent teeth or implants. One of the most crucial skills in the placement of a dental bridge is to create the illusion that the missing tooth emerges from gum just a natural tooth. Our skills in cosmetic dentistry, gum manipulation and our in-house implantologist can combine ensure no-one will know that you ever had a missing tooth!
One of the benefits is restoring your smile. Dental bridges prevent other teeth from moving around; and give back the ability to chew and speak.
Dental veneers are custom-made shells of tooth-coloured materials designed to cover the front surface of teeth to improve your appearance.
These shells are bonded to the front of the teeth, matching the colour, shape, size and length of previous teeth.
Individually crafted for each patient, these cosmetic enhancements are made from advanced material that closely resembles the appearance of natural dental enamel.
Dentists can use veneers for an impressive number of cosmetic corrections, ranging from teeth whitening to orthodontic adjustments. Thanks to their lifelike appearance and wide array of functions, porcelain veneers rank among the most trusted and popular procedures in cosmetic dentistry.
Because a portion of the original tooth enamel is reduced, a veneer is not considered a reversible treatment. Although adjustments and even new veneers can be made, you can never reliably return to the original condition of the tooth.
Veneers make teeth look natural and healthy. Because they are very thin and are held in place by a special, strong adhesive, very little preparation of the tooth is needed.
Because the preparation of the tooth is so slight you will probably not need a temporary veneer. The tooth will look very much the same after preparation, but will feel slightly less smooth.
Friendly staff, very helpful.
Dentists at DentIdeal Clinic has helped me overcome my fear of going to the dentist and fear of the pain. They are very patient, calming, and takes time to explain things so I can understand them and has a sense of humor which helps me. I like my hygienist and the rest of my support staff.

I brought in both of my children (6 and 4), the staff was so friendly, patient, and accommodating!! They were in different rooms to which I floated back and forth to. Each time I went to check on them they were happy and doing what was asked. My kids talked about how much they loved their hygienists.
